In 2011 the church expanded their parking lot and added extensive landscaping.
In June of 2015, a vehicle left Waller Road in the early hours of Sunday morning and
crashed into the church, destroying the northwest corner of the building, heat pump,
and ladies' rest room. Extensive repairs were completed in December of 2015.
In March of 2016, after twenty-one years as pastor of Ascension, Pastor Paul
Naumann accepted a call to teach Hebrew and Old Testament studies at Immanuel
Lutheran Seminary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. His farewell Sunday was July 24, 2016.
Seminary graduate Ben Libby accepted the call to serve as Ascension's new pastor
and was installed on September 4, 2016.
